Ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 general elections, political analysts, stakeholders, religious and community leaders have converge in Kano to discuss and proffer solutions on Nigeria’s future and way forward.
At an annual ‘ina mafita’ event organised by Kano based all-Hausa radio station; Arewa Radio with the theme, “2023: Ina Makomar Najeriya”, issues bothering around democracy and contemporary polity took centre stage.
Delivering his welcome address, the Head of Station, Arewa Radio, Shehu Bala Kabara said, the event is an annual avenue aimed at looking into issues bedeviling the society.
He said, this year’s theme will not come at a better time especially as 2023 general elections is fast approaching having unresolved issues that may make or mar activities. Hence, the need to address them.
Issues discussed include democracy in the fourth republic, leaders and leadership, responsibilities between leaders and followers and the influence of electoral constitution in the forthcoming 2023 election.
Political analysts like Professor Sa’idu Ahmed Dukawa, Professor Kamilu Sani Fagge Sheik Lawal Abubabakar, INEC representative, Adam Maulud among others.
On his part, the group Managing Director, Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Nigeria info and Arewa Radio stations in Kano, Lagos, Abuja, Porthercourt and Onitsha, Prince Daniel Aboki expressed optimism that issues raised and addressed will go along way in shaping the road to 2023 if put into perspective and action.
He therefore, charged all in attendance to be ambassadors of the key issues within their jurisdiction in other to achieve the desired objective while pledging more initiatives that will promote the course.
