The All Progressive Congress (APC) has said that it registered nearly 2,000 support groups that pledges to work for the victory of the party in the coming 2023 elections.
The party, through its National Director, Amalgamated APC Support Group (AASG), Dr Nasiru Ladan said the development is a sign of victory adding that the presidential candidate of the party awaits only swearing in as the president of the country.
Speaking in Kano at the inauguration of the Northwest leadership of the AASG, Dr Ladan said support groups are representatives of the masses who will cast their votes, and that having a majority of them determines the success of a party in the election.
Represented by Director Administration, Haruna Alfa, said the National chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu directed them to collate the entire support groups that registered to support the party in its activities.
“Earlier this month when we were assigned to collate the support groups we had 1, 464 groups. But we thought that more groups would be willing to join the party to help in the campaign, so we opened the opportunity and so far we have 1, 925 support groups. This is an indication of victory. Having these groups in our party, we are assured the 2023 election is going to be a hock over.”
He said they will categorize the groups to work from state level to wards so that they will ensure that people vote for their part at all levels.
On his part, after they were inaugurated, the Zonal Coordinator of the Northwest chapter of the AASG, Sunusi Musa Yakasai said so far they have 200 registered support groups in Kano, and that with the development they are assured of delivering Kano for Bola Amed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
