2023: PWD’s Pledges To Kick Out APC, Vote PDP

Hundreds of People with special needs in Kano have pledged to kick out the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano and bring back the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general elections.

The People with special needs from 44 local government areas of Kano make the declaration at an event organised by Professor Hafiz Abubakar support group for Atiku-Okowa on Sunday.

The Kano state Chairman of the People with Disabilities, Ado Ibrahim Maikoriya who led the declaration said, it’s time for the precious bird to go back to its nest for in the past eight years, PWD’s have been neglected.

“During the time of Shekarau, we enjoyed education and incentives from the government, but since then, we have not seen anything. Hafiz Abubakar came in as deputy governor, we also enjoyed incentives which is no more.

“In eight years of APC reign, Gwale, that was receiving N300,000 every month for people with special needs has seen not a dime. With this, we say the end of this injustice and not giving us any attention has come and we must vote them out of power whether they like it or not.”

Also speaking, a PWD, Aminu Ahmad Tudunwada said, “the umbrella that used to rescue us is here again. Let’s not relent, this is the only time to speak to them in the language they understand the best.

“We have at least 20 million people with disabilities in Nigeria, we are enough to bring any candidate on board. Isn’t it a bad omen that people were celebrating APC when it came and we are celebrating its going?

“Thank God we have them all campaigning for the PDP now. All the who is who in the APC are indirectly working for us, God willing, victory is ours, may God help us.”

Earlier speaking, former Kano state Deputy Governor, Hafiz Abubakar said, “It’s time to chase them out, come Saturday, you and your families should come out and vote. We don’t have any weapons other than that voters card. Don’t allow anybody to decieve you in any form.”

Recall that the National Coordinator of the Atiku-Okowa Campaign Council for People with Disabilities, Senator Hayatu Bello Gwarzo, said Atiku Abubakar had promised a five percent appointment to persons with disabilities.

Speaking at a ceremony in Abuja for the declaration of support by people with disabilities for Atiku, Gwarzo said the PDP presidential candidate is accepted across the country and that is why people with disabilities have also joined the campaign.
