As Muslims across the world commemorate Eid-el-Maulud, marking the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Chairman of the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, has extended his warm felicitations to the Muslim community.

In a statement signed by the Council’s Secretary, Comrade Abubakar Shehu Kwaru, the NUJ Chairman congratulated Muslims, particularly members of the union, on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) birth. He encouraged all to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and exemplify his virtues of love, compassion, and unity.

“Eid-Maulud is a time for love and reflection on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, as well as a remembrance of the seal of all Prophets, an embodiment of complete humanity,” the statement read.

Comrade Dederi further urged Muslims to foster love and support within their communities, regardless of religious backgrounds, and to embody the Prophet’s character by caring for the less privileged.

He also emphasized the importance of making Eid-Maulud a meaningful celebration, stating that, “This occasion should be elevated not just as a festive moment but as a time to renew our commitment to living by the noble teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).”

In conclusion, the NUJ Kano Chairman reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of its members and maintaining high standards of professionalism in journalism.

Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid-el-Maulud by reflecting on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, whose message of peace and kindness remains a guiding principle for many.
