EFCC Arrests Thirteen Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Sokoto State

The Sokoto Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested thirteen suspected internet fraudsters in Sokoto State. According to an official statement released by the EFCC on Monday via X, the arrests were made on Saturday, September 28, 2024, in the Gidan Yaro and Dandima areas of Sokoto, based on actionable intelligence.

The EFCC revealed that the suspects, all of whom claim to be students of Usman Danfodio University, were apprehended for their alleged involvement in internet-related crimes. The commission stated that they will face charges in court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The EFCC continues to intensify its crackdown on internet fraud, particularly among students, in efforts to curb cybercrime activities across Nigeria.
