Senate Confirms Najomo as NCAA’s New Director General

The Senate has confirmed Captain Chris Ona Najomo as the new Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) following the adoption of a report by the Senate Committee on Aviation during Thursday’s plenary.

Presenting the report, the committee chairman, Sen. Buhari Abdulfatai (APC-Oyo), stated that Najomo had been thoroughly screened and found qualified for the position.

“This confirmation is based on his vast experience and outstanding contributions to the aviation industry,” Abdulfatai said, urging the Senate to approve the nomination.

With years of expertise in aviation management, Najomo’s appointment is expected to drive reforms within the NCAA, enhancing regulatory oversight and safety standards in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

His confirmation follows increasing calls for improved oversight of airline operations and passenger safety regulations. Stakeholders in the industry have expressed optimism that his leadership will strengthen the NCAA’s role in ensuring global best practices within Nigeria’s airspace.
