The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that the inauguration of its National Convention Zoning Committee (NCZC) will hold on Thursday, August 14, 2025, as part of preparations for its upcoming Elective National Convention.
The event, which is expected to shape the zoning framework for the party’s future leadership structure, will commence at 12:00 pm WAT at the NEC Hall, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
This was disclosed in a press release issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, via the PDP’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday.
The statement formally invited the party’s key stakeholders to the inauguration, including PDP governors, members of the Board of Trustees (BOT), the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Executive Committee (NEC), serving and former National Assembly members, as well as other political figures.
“This is to formally inform and invite all our governors, BOT, NWC, NEC, serving and former NASS members, and all our stakeholders to the inauguration of the National Convention Zoning Committee (NCZC) of our great party,” the statement read.
The zoning committee is expected to play a crucial role in determining the geographical distribution of party leadership positions ahead of the convention, a move widely seen as strategic for party unity and its preparation for the 2027 general elections.
