First City Monument Bank Empowers 30 Young Graduates Through Flexxtern Programme

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has successfully empowered 30 young graduates through its innovative internship initiative, the Flexxtern programme. This initiative, designed to equip participants with practical skills and real-world experience, aims to create a direct pathway to career success.

Yomi Adebanjo, the Group Head of Human Resources at Signal Alliance Technology Holding, shared insights about the programme, stating, “The Flexxtern programme is a platform for self-discovery and career progression. We have been part of this since 2021, and our experience has been remarkable. Our first Flexxtern is employed full-time with us, and the second performed equally well. This initiative truly empowers young graduates and sets them on the path to achieving their dreams.”

Since its inception in 2016, the Flexxtern programme has provided over 200 young Nigerians with work experience at reputable organizations. Targeted at individuals aged 18 to 30, the programme has become a crucial gateway for launching careers across various industries. With each new season, its scope and impact have expanded as more companies join the mission to empower the next generation of professionals.

Olawale Ayuba, Vice President of GRC and Enterprise Fraud at ActivEdge Technologies, noted the positive impact of Flexxterns on their organization, saying, “Their contributions have been key to our success, and we are eager to continue this partnership to create more life-changing opportunities for young graduates.”

Ifeoluwa Adeyemo of Insight Publicis also praised the programme, highlighting the exceptional quality of the Flexxterns: “The partnership has been a wonderful and impactful experience. The Flexxterns that have come to us are nothing short of great. We have some of them still working with us, and we are committed to ensuring this partnership grows and achieves the desired results.”

Felicia Obozuwa, Divisional Head of Corporate Services & Service Management at FCMB, emphasized the importance of collaboration in fostering a brighter future for Nigerian youths: “Our collaboration with leading organizations is rooted in a shared vision to nurture talent and drive economic development.”

Additionally, Diran Olojo, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at FCMB, reiterated the bank’s commitment to preparing youths for the future of work: “At FCMB, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for young people to gain the skills necessary for success. The Flexxtern programme reflects our commitment to shaping the next generation of leaders by offering them mentorship, real-world training, and hands-on experience.”

In line with its commitment to community service, FCMB, in partnership with the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation, recently restored the vision of approximately 150,000 visually impaired individuals in Kebbi State through its “Priceless Gift of Sight” initiative.
