From Industrial Chemistry to Interior Design: Amarachi Mbakwe Carves Her Own Path

Amarachi Eugene Mbakwe, a 25-year-old graduate of Industrial Chemistry from Abia State University, has successfully transitioned her passion for interior design into a thriving business.

“I’ve always been drawn to aesthetics,” Amarachi shared during a recent interview. “Even as a student, I found myself gravitating towards interior design magazines and dreaming up ways to transform spaces.”

In 2020, with the support of her mentor, Miss White, Amarachi took the leap and founded “Gelinas Interior & Exterior Decoration.” The company offers a comprehensive range of services, including space planning, color consultation, furniture selection, lighting design, and window treatment.

“We work closely with our clients to understand their vision and create spaces that reflect their unique personalities and lifestyles,” Amarachi explained. “Whether it’s a cozy home or a vibrant commercial space, we strive to create functional and aesthetically pleasing environments.”

Amarachi continues to invest in her professional development. She has participated in various training programs, including those sponsored by EDC/TNY, to enhance her business acumen. She recently attended the SBA conference organized by Mrs. Stella Adebayo with Lenco in V.I., Lagos, further expanding her knowledge and network within the industry.

“Gelinas Interior & Exterior Decoration” is a testament to Amarachi’s entrepreneurial spirit and her dedication to pursuing her passion. As she continues to grow her business, Amarachi serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs and a reminder that success can be achieved through dedication, hard work, and a passion for one’s craft.
