Daily Trust reporter shortlisted as finalist for Humanitarian Journalism Award

Daily Trust journalist from Kano Bureau office, Salim Umar Ibrahim, has been shortlisted among finalist of the Humanitarian Journalism Award for the 4th Security and Emergency Management Awards (SAEMA2022), coming up on November 23, 2022 in Abuja.

The event is organized by Emergency Digest, a publication of Image Merchants Production Limited in conjunction with the Center for Crisis Communication (CCC) and Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Center (CISLAC).

In a letter of nomination addressed to the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Trust Abuja, the manager of the IMR, Dahiru Lawal said the award is to publically acknowledge and celebrate outstanding contributions to security and emergency management with a view to creating resilient and professional approach in tackling National challenges.

“While all the finalists will receive the certificate of excellence, the Panel of Jury, chaired by Air Commodore Yusuf Anas, Executive Secretary of CCC, will select the winners of categories that will be announced on the award day.

“The president of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Mallam Mukhtar Sirajo will deliver the keynote address of the conference, with the theme ‘Strategic Communication for National Integration, Peace and Security,” the letter read in part.

According to the letter the event will hold at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
