Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje hails APC gubernatorial candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, for wrestling down the incumbent governor and the candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Godwin Obaseki, at a debate organised by Channels television, Sunday.
Ganduje, who is also the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Election Council in Edo stated this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar on Monday.
He challenged that, “What transpired yesterday at gubernatorial debate, organised by Channels television and other stakeholders, between our governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and PDP’s candidate Godwin Obaseki, shows that, ours is issue-based process.”
“In all the areas discussed during the debate, it appears to all that our great party, APC is ready to take Edo state to higher levels. Our programmes in the areas of security, education, health and all other areas show that our party is determined to better the living condition of Edo people”, he said.
Describing how Ize-Iyamu challenged incumbent governor Obaseki, the governor argued that APC’s Pastor Ize-Iyamu knows his onion, adding that, “Looking at the trend and manner at which the debate went on, it appears to all that APC is in top gear and determined to win the Saturday election.”
According to the statement Mr Ganduje assured Edo people that, looking at the outcomes of the debate, “…Edo will be saved from the clutches of underdevelopment and retardation.”
