The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano State Command has said that it deploy 1,272 personnel for special operations during the celebration of the Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah) across the state.
The State FRSC Sector Commander, Ibrahim Sallau Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer, (PRO) Abdullahi Labaran on Wednesday in Kano.
According to the statement, five ambulances, 25 patrol vehicles, one heavy duty tow truck and other operational equipment have been deployed on major routes and highways to facilitate effective smooth operations.
“This is to ensure free flow of traffic on critical road interceptions, safety of lives and properties on highways. The special patrol operations will run from Thursday, April 20th to Tuesday, April 25th,” it stated.
The sector commander said that the deployed personnel include: 1,036 regular Marshals and 236 Special Marshals on major routes.
He added that the corps would ensure safe and smooth vehicular movement, traffic control and give prompt attention to victims of road traffic crashes within the festive period.
He warned drivers to desist from committing traffic offences such as: driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, dangerous and wrongful overtaking, overloading, speeding, lane discipline/route violation, under-aged driving and use of phone while driving.
The sector commander also wishes the general public a happy and accident free Eid-el-Fitr Sallah Celebrations.
