Kano Gov’t honors best performing street sweepers

The Kano State government, through the Ministry of Environment, has honored seven of its staff for emerging as best performing street sweepers for the month of August, 2022.

Presenting the certificate of commendation, Shadda brocade and cash incentives to the awardees, the state commissioner of environment, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso said the gesture is to appreciate and recognize the hard working staff across all cadres in the state.

He said “this is a new innovation introduced by the ministry with a view to improve the performance of the staff on duty regardless of their cadre for others to tighten their belts and do the needful.”

 

Dr Getso further explained that, the awardees were carefully selected based on their track record of services rendered in different parts of the metropolitan roads to sanitize our environment and our dear state.

While commenting on their hard work and dedication to their assigned duty post, the commissioner maintained that, the ministry will continue to identify and honor such staff every month.

The staff awarded are, Malan Ahmed Haruna, Sani Adamu, Kabiru Idris, Yusuf Usman (sarkin ruwa), Rabiu Abubakar and Alh. Umar Nuhu (Baban Bola) who emerged as the best PSP.

Responding on behalf of the awardees Alh Umar Nuhu Baban Bola expressed their deep appreciation for the honor and for finding them worthy to receive the award and pledge to continue to put in their best to ensure clean and safe environment in Kano.
