The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano state has said Kano citizens have rejected Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who it described as a “corrupt leader who destroyed the hard-earned reputation of the state.
This is contained in a statement by Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, spokesman of PDP governorship candidate Abba Kabir Yusuf.
“It came with a surprise that people who should have been ashamed of themselves for maladministration of state resources, vote buying to the public glare and snatching of election results are preaching sanity in the polity.
“Kano and People’s Democratic Party have seen the worst of Ganduje’s administration and have spoken in the last gubernatorial election by giving PDP highest votes over the ruling APC, Ganduje remains a loser,” the statement said.
“People have demonstrated their apathy to return a corrupt leader who destroyed the hard earned reputation of the state.
“We learnt currently, the government has taken money bags to the affected polling units buying and collecting people’s PVCs at the cost of N5,000 each, fortunately, the police has arrested two of their agents at Gwagwarwa division.
“We strongly believe that power belongs to Almighty Allah and gives it to who he wishes at the time he so wishes, no body can change our fate destined by our creator.
“As the new date has been announced by the electoral body, we are determined to protect our victory through all means within the confines of law,” it added.
