A 24-year-old man, Musa Abdullahi of Riga Fada community in Kumbotso local government area of Kano state, has appeared before a magistrate court 48 in the state for allegedly setting on fire, the house of his girlfriend, who dumped him for another suitor.
Abdullahi was arraigned before the court presided over by Rabi Abdulkadir over two count charges bordering on threat to peace and attempting to kill.
He was accused of setting fire on the house of the parents of his former suitor who rejected him for another guy while they were in love.
However, the incident has led to the girlfriend (name withheld) getting wounded on some parts of her body as the fire was too much around her room area.
The prosecution counsel, Barrister Amal Bashir Albasu ordered that the charges should be read to the defendant.
The court ordered its staff, Muhammad Sani Rabi’u to read the charges for the defendant.
After reading the charges, Abdullahi pleaded not guilty.
The judge, Rabi Abdulkadir ordered that he should be remanded in a correctional center and adjourned the matter to 1st of June, 2023 for continuation of hearing.
