The Kano Pillars football club has extended the contract of its head coach, Ibrahim Musa, best known as Jugunu by one year.
By this extension, Mr Ibrahim will lead the Kano Pillars (Masu Gida) to the 2020/2021 football league competition.
According to a statement by the club’s Public Relation Officer, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, Jugunu’s contract was renewed “due to his efficient leadership as the head coach, which gave the club a number of victories .”
DAILY FOCUS reports that Mr Jugunu led Kano Pillars to win the FA cup, (Aiteo challenge cup) last year, which was the first time the club won the tournament in its 30-year history.
The statement said the chairman of the club; Alhaji Sirajo Yahaya Jambul directed for the renewal of the contract and urged the coach to work alongside his assistance and players to record more successes in the coming season.
Mr Jambul further promised to redouble efforts to improve the welfare of the players and all other team members, adding that all stakeholders will be carried along to move the club to the next level.
In his remarks after signing the renewal of his contract, Mr Jugunu promised to pay back the confidence and trust the club reposed in him by bringing more success to the club.
This year’s premier league ended in the 25th week which gave Plateau United chance to become the champions, after adopting the system of Point Per Game, PPG, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile Kano Pillars is the lead football team in Kano and is preparing to face three different trophies in the next year’s eason which include; Nigerian Premier League, Aiteo Challenge Cup, and Africa Confederation Cup, CAF.
