Kawu allege plans to buy, change voting machine by opposition

The Kano South senatorial candidate under the umbrella of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila has revealed that an opposition party are mulling plans to buy votes, write false results and change of voting machines come 2023 general elections.

Kawu, responding to the purported plot, via an audio sent to our reporter said, his campaign team have since taken three proactive measures to tackle the situation and none of his followers should plan anything in that direction.

He said, “we are aware of some issues in Kano south that some people have plans to buy or change the voting machine, this is nothing on our part that will give us a headache although we have taken proactive measures to tackle the situation.

“First, we are going to embark on a massive campaign and awareness for people to stand on their toes and depend on their votes. They should not allow anybody to cheat them and they should not either cheat anybody.

“Secondly, we are going to write to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Security agencies and all stakeholders to be wary of the development and thirdly, our religious leaders have since taken upon themselves the responsibility of praying against anybody who are planning to cheat us, may God break them away and not succeed.”

He therefore called on his supporters not to panic, to be calm and pray for God to sweep off any evil planned against them adding that “nobody should plan anything along with what they are trying to do.”
