In a statement signed by the state Commissioner of Information, Comrade Muhammad Garba, said the group had on Saturday night dismantled all campaign fosters of APC and also attacked residents of the party’s notable members, including the APC’s state chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, whose Son was severely injured.
The statement further noted that, the group resorted to violence because they do not want a peaceful political atmosphere that has been entranch by the present government in Kano state.
“This clearly shows that this people do not want a peaceful atmosphere in the state. The state government will not fold it’s arms and allow some groups to disturb the peaceful existence in the state. We therefore urge the security agents in the state to work against such acts”, the statement added.
Kano state Police Command had earlier confirmed the attack on the resident of the state APC chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas.
Reacting to the accusation, PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, Engnr. Abba Kabiru Yusuf, said the ruling APC was intimidated by the mammoth crowd at the PDP’s presidential rally held in the state.
Abba who spoke through his spokesman, Sanusi Bature Dawakintofa, said there was no evidence of the claim by the APC, that the chairman house was attacked by hoodlums, rather the pictures of his burnt family house, converted to PDP campaign office in Gwale, was trending in the social media yesterday.
“we have pictures of the burning of our gubernatorial candidate. Its a family house that he use for politics in Gwale, but it was burnt yesterday. But for us, we don’t have any record of attacking them, if they have records of where their party’s chairman house was attacked, let them bring it”, he said.
He added that, the APC and the state government are intimidated by the mammoth crowd, which according to him is ‘evidently clear that PDP is winning in Kano state’.
