Man stabbed neighbor on throat while celebrating election in Kano

A Kano state Sharia court sitting in Kwana Hudu has remanded one Sa’ad Abdul’aziz in a correctional center for allegedly stabbing his neighbor, Mahmud Auwal Giginyu on his throat for celebrating victory in the just concluded gubernatorial elections.

Abdul’aziz, popularly known as Goje of Giginyu quarters, Nasarawa Local Government Area was dragged before the court presided over by Mallam Nura Yusuf Ahmad by the state police command.

He was accused of firing a knock-out on the people living in the area, and when the victim talked to him, he went home, brought out a knife and stabbed him in his throat.

He suffered a serious injury in the victim and is now receiving treatment in the hospital.

When the prosecution counsel, Aliyul Abidin read the charges against him, he pleaded guilty instantly.

The judge ordered that he should be remanded in prison to 28th April, 2023, pending when the victim’s health situation will be reviewed and that the court will give its judgment on that day.
