Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Philibus Ibrahim alongside his accomplice Gabriel Bila for allegedly strangling his pregnant girlfriend, Theresa Yakubu, 22, to death in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of the state.
The duo were arrested following an intelligence report to the police in Kano and that they are from Tudun LGA.

Confirming the arrest to newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Dauda said they received information on Sunday, Aoril 2, from a good Samaritan who reported that a lady was seen lying on the roadside unconscious along Kano-Jos road in Anadaria Village.
He said on receiving the information, a team of policemen were rushed to the scene and the victim was rushed to Tiga General Hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
He said from there an investigation was commenced to trace and arrest the suspects and they have succeeded in arresting the duo.
“Investigation revealed that the victim left Nassarawan Kuki to Yantomo Village in Garun Malam Local Government Area of Kano on March 27, at about 6:00 p.m. the victim was found to be pregnant,” he said.
According to him, during investigation the principal suspect confessed committing the offence using the victim’s veil to strangle her to death.
The commissioner added that the investigation is ongoing once completed the suspects would be charged to court to face the wrath of the law.
