NEMA handover drugs to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has handed over drugs to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital(AKTH) to support victims of flood and other emergencies.

The Director-General NEMA, Mr Mustapha Ahmed, while presenting the items on Thursday in Kano, said the donation was made by Map International to AKTH hospital.

Ahmed, represented by NEMA Coordinator, Kano and Jigawa Territorial office, Dr Nuraddeen Abdullahi, said the donation was to complement the efforts of the Federal government in providing quality healthcare service to victims of flood, banditry and kidnapping.

The items distributed included Allergy syring tray, disposable isolation gown, prenatal micronutrient supplement X100, knee walker, syringe, krill oil 500mg, eye glasses, respirator, lancet pro-care, bactine spray, disposable barrier gown and sharp collector among others.

Responding, the Chief Medical Director AKTH, Prof Abdulrahman Abba-Sheshe, commended NEMA for the kind gesture and promised to ensure good use of the drugs.

Sheshe expressed readiness to partner with NEMA and Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) on training their staff on basic life support.
