#NigeriaDecides: Buhari inspects farm in Daura as INEC collates results

As Nigerians await eagerly for the collation and subsequent announcement of the 2019 presidential elections results, President Muhammadu Buhari visited his farm at his Daura hometown in Katsina state.

In a post shared on his social media handle, the president, who is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, vowed to give more priority to agriculture in his second term, if he eventually wins the election.

“I was pleased to spend time on my farm in Daura, this morning. Agriculture will continue to be one of the priorities of our administration. I‘m proud of what we have achieved in domestic fertilizer production; financing for farmers, and support and incentives for Agric investors,” the president said.

The president had on Saturday expressed his confidence to win the elections after casting his ballot, telling reporters that “I will congratulate myself because I will win the elections”.

Meanwhile his main challenger Atiku Abubakar of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also said victory was on his side, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare him winner.

The INEC chairman has announced that the commission has formally opened the collation process and would start declaring results at 11am on Monday.
