Northwest APC youth forum drums support for Barau Jibrin’s Senate president bid


The Northwest APC Youth Solidarity Forum has declared their total support to the 3rd term elected Senator representing Kano North Senatorial District Distinguished Senator Barau I. Jibrin to become the Senate President of the 10th Assembly.

The forum, which is famous and committed Youth support group in Northwestern Nigeria and always in the forefront and solidly behind the success of APC Party and it’s aspirants in Northwest and Nigeria at large, said Barau Jibrin has all the qualities to lead the Red Chamber and bring out positive development for the country.

Chairman of the Forum Comrade Abdullahi Umar Bichi, who stated this in Kano, described Senator Barau I. Jibrin as the most qualified candidate amongst those who declared interest for the post of Senate President in Red-Chamber.

“I am saying this because, he was one time Member House of Representatives, and Senator for the 3rd time. He served as Chairman in many committees such as, Downstream Petroleum, TETFUND, Appropriation.

“He is Accountant by profession, he also holds Masters Certificate in Financial Management and Pricing, Masters Certificate in Management and Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Certificate in Financial Management for Business Decisions from the prestigious Cornell University, United State of America,” said.

According to him, Senator Barau I. Jibrin is from Kano State of North West, the zone that gave APC highest votes in 2023 election, which made him capable and ready to take the mantle of the Senate leadership.

“South West has the President, North East has the Vice President, North Central has the Chairman Party, North West suppose to have Senate President, for those that are saying it should go for South East or South South, it’s not the matter of regional spreading it’s the matter of choosing competency through election.

“And, for you to judge this, you must know the number of votes from South East and South South in just concluded 2023 general election and compare it with number of votes from North West,” comrade Bichi added.

He explained that the issue of religion is not considered in National Assembly, as during President Obasanjo’s Administration, David Mark Senate President, Chief Ekweremadu Deputy Senate President, Madam Ete Speaker of HOR, all of them are Christians.

“Morever, If you look at the parformance of all candidates of Senate President, you’ll find out that, Senator Barau I. Jibrin is the highest among them in sponsoring Bills, securing job opportunities, empowerments and providing human and infrastructural developments to his constituents.

“This will help in maintaining the status of APC as a leading Party and it’s supporters in Kano State, North West and Northern Nigeria as the whole.”
