Over two thousand members of the Kano business community have converge and endorsed the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship and deputy candidates, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Murtala Sule Garo.
The businessmen, drawn from more than 77 major, medium and small scale businesses and market associations were gathered under the umbrella of the Coalition of businessmen within Kano central.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the committee, Umar Ladiyo said, they organise the gathering and invited the governorship candidate and his deputy to register their support and assure commitment to the success of their ambition.

“We are here to register our support and assure you of our commitment. We have went into the nooks and crannies of markets and ensure we gather enough momentum. Over 100 markets have so far been visited and we have successfully got the support of marketers around.
“Your excellency, we know who you are and the kind of person you are. We know you, we know your trade, you are not a businessman by name but a practical one. Likewise your deputy, we all know the history of the family he comes from, you are all businessmen.”
While being optimistic about Gawuna and Garo of taking Kano back to its exalted position of being the Centre of Commerce in the country and Africa at large, he commends the giant strides of the incumbent government for allowing the Dala inland dry port see the light of the day.
On his part, Kano state deputy governor and APC governorship candidate, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, expressed satisfaction of having the support and backing of the business community in state.
He said, “I am a businessman from the grassroots. Let me remind those of you who knew since the time of going to Cotonou with three trousers, trade and come back till who we are today.
“The way you asked us to come here as young businessmen, we sat with the older and older generations of businessmen in the state, they have accepted and pledged their support to us.
“We thank you for this and we are assuring you as you journey to fight for us, we will also not let you down. This kind of show of love is sweeter than the seat. May we serve to your expectations.
“This is your government, you are not going to send in your request, but rather, you will be carried along to advise and it will be done.”
The gubernatorial candidate is in company of Member representing municipal federal constituency, Salisu maje gwangwazo, commissioners and members of the Kano House of Assembly, Chairmen of Municipal, Gwale, Warawa, Garun Mallam, Kumbotso among others.
Few among attendees at the function include the Chairman of the 177 houses at Kantin Kwari market, Naziru Boss, representativea and marketers from Hajj Camp, Foam, business centre, Tricycle associations, Kasuwar Gada, Rijiyar lemo, Dawanau, Kurmi, Poultry marketers, GSM merchants, Mariri kolanut market, Goron Dutse furnitures, Kofar Ruwa, Shahuci model market, Sim card marketers, sachet water association among others.
