Shallipopi Teases Fans With New Music Drop This Friday

Lagos, Sept. 2, 2025 — Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Shallipopi, born Crown Uzama, has set fans buzzing once again after hinting at another new release.

The Benin-born artist took to X on Tuesday, sharing a photo of himself in the studio enjoying a plate of jollof rice. He captioned it: “New music Friday jorrrrrrrr” teasing what could be his next hit.

The casual post has sparked a wave of excitement online, with fans speculating whether the studio meal might reflect the mood or theme of his upcoming track.

A Meteoric Rise

Shallipopi shot to fame in 2023 with his breakout viral single “Elon Musk”, which topped Nigeria’s Apple Music chart and introduced him as one of Afrobeats’ brightest new stars.

Since then, he has delivered back-to-back successes. His debut album “Presido La Pluto” and follow-up “Shakespopi” both reached number one, while singles such as “ASAP” dominated the TurnTable Top 100.

Earlier this year, he released “Laho” in March and followed with a remix, “Laho II”, featuring Burna Boy and ODUMODUBLVCK in April cementing his influence and broadening his fanbase.

Fans on Alert

With Friday’s release now teased, the Plutomaniacs as Shallipopi’s loyal fanbase is known are buzzing across social media, speculating on the track’s sound and possible collaborators.

From posting freestyles on TikTok to commanding the charts with chart-topping albums, Shallipopi’s journey underscores his rapid rise and growing influence in the Afrobeats movement.

For now, fans will have to wait until Friday to hear what the Pluto king has cooked up next.
