President Tinubu Condoles India Over Fatal Air Crash Tragedy

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of India following the tragic crash of an Air India flight that claimed numerous lives earlier this week.

In a statement issued by the Presidency on Wednesday, Tinubu described the incident as “a heartbreaking loss” and expressed deep sympathy for the families of the victims and the entire nation of India.

“I join the rest of the world in mourning the lives lost in this terrible tragedy. Nigeria stands in solidarity with India during this period of grief and offers prayers for the families of the deceased, as well as for the speedy recovery of those injured,” the President said.

The Air India aircraft was en route from New Delhi to Dubai when it reportedly encountered severe technical issues shortly after takeoff, leading to a crash landing that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. Indian aviation authorities have since launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.

President Tinubu’s message adds to a chorus of international condolences pouring in from world leaders and humanitarian organizations. The Nigerian government also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation with India in aviation safety and emergency response.

This tragedy marks one of the worst aviation disasters India has faced in recent years, with flags flown at half-mast in several regions and national mourning declared.
